| Databases and Computer Applications Throughout his career, Michael Schrader has created numerous databases and computer applications, including: Cumulative Distribution Program -- BASIC program that calculates the cumulative distribution for one or two datasets. For dual datasets, the program performs a statistical comparison of the means of the two datasets to determine if the difference is significant. Written to conduct before and after speed studies. Sign Inventory Database -- Database tracks location, installation, condition, and maintenance of signs. Traverse Worksheet -- A spreadsheet used to determine the planar coordinates of the points of a traverse, such as a property boundary. Grated Inlet Capacity Worksheet -- A spreadsheet for determining the intercept of a grated inlet, including width of spread and bypass flows. Open Channel Flow Capacity Worksheet -- A spreadsheet for determining the capacity and depth of flow in a uniform symmetric channel. Closed Conduit Capacity Worksheet -- A spreadsheet for determining the capacity and depth of flow in closed circular and rectangular conduits, including headwater depths at the conduit entrance. Vertical Curve Profile Worksheet -- A spreadsheet for determining elevations at various points along a vertical curve, including the location and elevation of the sag/crest point. Horizontal Curve Worksheet -- A spreadsheet for determining the deflection angles and distances to various points along a horizontal curve. Work Request Database -- Database tracks work requests, including requestor, date of request, and request response. Includes graphic field for display of photo, map, or drawing. Barricade Permitting Database -- Database tracks locations, extent, and duration of road closures, and generates invoices for barricading permit fees. Operational Analysis Worksheet -- Spreadsheet computes the capacity of a roadway corridor based on operation, functional classification, lane width, median type, left-turn storage, and frequency of signals. Accident rates are also included to determine a "Total Quality Index" for a facility. Pavement Analysis Worksheet -- Spreadsheet prioritizes pavement maintenance based on the following factors: functional classification, pavement type, number of transverse cracks, number of longitudinal cracks, number of depressions, number of bumps, number of patches, number of potholes, functional obsolescence, and the percent of the pavement that experiences ponding. Capital Improvement Project Evaluation Database -- Database ranks proposed capital improvement projects and accumulates costs in order of rank. Project and Time Tracking Database -- Database tracks labor time and costs by task, employee, and project. Library and Document Database -- Database searches document library by title, subject, geographic location, and abstract text string. Baylor University Parking Study -- An Access database of demand for parking on the Baylor University campus classified by student classifcation, major, and residence. Demand was overlayed with supply and turnover data to determine overall need for parking and to develop strategies for satisfying this need. Richardson Origin/Destination Study -- An Access database of origin and destination information for motorists treveling in Richardson, Texas. Included cordon lines, zones, and cross-classifications by ZIP codes, trip frequency, and trip purpose. |
